We're a little late sharing this one, but it was too good not to. On Friday 16 October, Empine Group won the Business Award at the Sub36 Awards 2026.
The ceremony took place at Park Hall in Chorley, with 250 people from across Lancashire's business community in the room. Being named winner in a category full of brilliant local businesses made it a night the whole team won't forget. It felt especially fitting that the award was presented by Amy King, who has supported us throughout our business journey.
The Sub36 Awards are run by Lancashire Business View. They celebrate people under 36 who are making their mark in Lancashire business, along with businesses led by people under 36.
This year the awards returned for the first time since 2020. There were 67 finalists from 48 Lancashire businesses across 14 categories, and every finalist pitched to the judges before the big night. The Business Award recognises a business led by under 36s that is already making a difference across the county.
Jacob Knowles and Anthony Taylor have been building our businesses together for 12 years. Being recognised as one of the county's leading businesses led by under 36s is a proud moment for everyone who has been part of that journey.
Jacob Knowles, co-founder, said: "Well, that exceeded all expectations. After 12 years, Anthony and I aren't feeling quite so youthful, but over the last 12 months the team across all of our businesses has put in a real shift to take them to new places, while supporting those around us. This award is for them."
"Thank you to the judges for listening to our story and taking such an interest in it. It means the world, and I'm looking forward to speaking more in the months ahead."
We see this award as a starting point, not a finish line. Our focus now is on growing the group's capacity, so we can take on more, support more clients and keep raising the bar on the work that earned us this recognition.
A huge thank you to Lancashire Business View, the judges and the sponsors for bringing Sub36 back, and to our team, clients and partners for everything that went into this. Congratulations too to every finalist and winner on the night.
